What is the Average Cost of Wedding Flowers?

Florals are often the poetic thread woven throughout a wedding, with the colors, textures, and fragrances all shaping the atmosphere. But what does it actually cost to create the ideal floral design for your wedding?

In this post, I uncover the numbers, nuances, and real-world examples behind the average cost of wedding flowers so you can have a tangible idea of what your floral budget might look like.

In this post, I cover:

  • The average cost of wedding flowers in 2025 (to serve as a starting point for 2026)
  • A breakdown of individual floral items and their price ranges
  • Key factors that influence your floral budget
  • Examples of what different floral budgets can realistically achieve

What is the average cost of wedding flowers in the US in 2025?

According to Fash, an online wedding marketplace, the national average cost for wedding flowers in 2025 was $2,200. Keep in mind that this accounts for all weddings, including simple civil ceremonies and low-key backyard weddings.

Most couples spend about 8% to 10% of their wedding budget on florals. When you consider that the average U.S. wedding costs around $33,000, a 10% floral budget comes out to about $3,300. However, your final floral investment depends heavily on a collection of factors, but especially your priorities.

(If your Pinterest board looks like a Bridgerton garden, your budget will likely need to be much higher.)

Wedding flower pricing breakdown

Let’s break down the total cost for each floral element and its respective price. (Remember, this is the price range for individual arrangements. For example, if you have five bridesmaids, your total cost for bridesmaids’ bouquets would be the price range multiplied by five.)

Your floral designer’s fees may be more or less, depending on whether or not the overall design, revisions, and installation are included.

Bridal bouquet: $100-$350

Bridesmaids’ bouquets (each): $50-$160

Boutonnieres (each): $10-$30

Corsages (each): $20-$50

Altar arrangement: $150-$600

Floral arch, arbor, chuppah, etc: $200-$4,500 ++ (plus more for installation and tear-down)

Floral chandelier: $500-$2,800

Ceremony aisle arrangement: $100-$350

Reception table centerpiece: $50-$600

Sweetheart table arrangement: $70-$500

Head table arrangement: $100-$1,200

Table runner: $100-$400+

Cake flowers: $30-$170

This list includes foundational pieces, but if florals are your main decorative feature, you may choose to expand beyond these designs.

Factors that influence the cost of wedding flowers

While the above pricing can offer a helpful starting point, the final budget for your wedding florals can depend on several variables. Let’s review some key factors to keep in mind for your floral cost.

  1. Location of your wedding

Costs vary widely by region. A small-town Ohio wedding will look a lot different from a Manhattan soiree. Northern Virginia, where most of my floral designs are found, tends to be the host to elevated, design-forward weddings, which influences the typical vendor pricing. In this region, the average floral budget ranges from $3,000 to $6,000.

  1. Number of floral arrangements

This is pretty straightforward! The more flowers and arrangements you envision, the higher the cost. A ceremony lined with flowers on every row will naturally cost more than one that incorporates florals only at the entrance and the altar.

  1. Size of floral arrangements

Again, this factor is simple to account for. Larger arrangements require more material and mechanics, while bud vases or petite centerpieces will fall on the lower end of the range.

  1. Floral varieties

Common blooms, like daisies or carnations, are more affordable. Exotic or delicate varieties, such as orchids, garden roses, or peonies, will increase your overall investment. Some florists also offer locally grown wedding flowers, which are more sustainable and beautiful, but also usually higher in cost.

  1. Season of your wedding

Flower availability shifts throughout the year. Using blooms that are out of season is possible, but it comes at a higher sourcing cost.

  1. Design, labor, and delivery

When you work with a florist, you aren’t just paying for flowers. A wedding florist’s services often also include consultations, design expertise, labor and assembly, and delivery — all essential to creating a cohesive, elevated experience.

  1. Vases and other hard materials

You may need to rent or buy vases, arches, and more materials for the flowers to be displayed in or on. Your florist will help with this, of course, but it’ll change the total fees.

Wedding flowers for every budget

Now that we’ve broken down the costs and factors that influence them, let’s take a look at how various floral budgets translate into the look and feel of your wedding. (To note: Aster & Bee collections range from $8,000 to $15,000.)

Basic floral budget: $500-$2,000

Perfect for intimate celebrations or couples who prefer a minimal aesthetic. You’ll be able to cover the essentials: bouquets, boutonnieres, and a few small accent arrangements.

Middle floral budget: $2,500-$5,000

A mid-range floral budget will get you all of the essentials, plus a few showstopping pieces. At this budget, florals will add to the ambiance of your venue, but won’t be the defining feature of your decor. Alternatively, if your wedding venue already has botanical features, like a garden-style venue, then this will enhance the ambiance without overpowering it.

High floral budget: $5,500-$10,000

If you want florals to be the centerpiece of your wedding, this budget is your sweet spot. Expect fuller arrangements, lush varietals, and the flexibility to add meaningful installations that elevate the overall experience. This is also applicable for larger wedding parties.

Luxury floral budget: $15,000+

This is where floral artistry flourishes. From floral chandeliers to exotic varieties, creativity can take the lead here. Your wedding becomes a fully immersive atmosphere. I’ve seen everything from full floral sculptures to living trees as centerpieces. Truly, the sky is the limit.

Cost of hiring a wedding florist in Northern Virginia

As a wedding florist in Northern Virginia, I love creating original and immersive atmospheres with my floral designs. On average, my couples set aside about $10,000 to $15,000 for their florals, allowing for lush, garden-like designs that feel personal, poetic, and curated.
