Pink & Yellow Wedding Inspiration at Great Marsh Estate: A Virginia Florist’s Love for Color
One of the most inspiring parts of participating in styled shoots is the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone as a floral designer. When I was invited to create the florals for a Styled Shoots Across America collaboration at the stunning Great Marsh Estate in Virginia, I knew it was time to embrace a new challenge: working with yellow as one of the main colors in the palette.
Yellow has never been my go-to for weddings and events—it’s bold, bright, and not always easy to pair. But for this shoot, the combination of soft yellows and blush pinks invited me to think differently. I focused on creating arrangements that felt both playful and elegant, balancing the vibrant energy of yellow with soft, buttery hues.
Now, It’s a reminder that stepping outside the familiar can lead to truly beautiful results, and I’m keeping this floral recipe in my back pocket for future spring focused wedding designs. These soft colors are perfect for the timeless elegance of the Great Marsh Estate. I’m so proud of how these florals came together, and I hope couples planning weddings in Virginia feel inspired by this unique combination of colors.
